Roanoke Renovations is owned and operated by Tom & Lisa Schmid in Manteo, North Carolina.  After Tom retired as a Fire Department Battalion Chief in 2021, we relocated to Manteo.  Over the 30 years on the fire department Tom spent his off days as a licensed general contractor.  He specialized in custom projects for clients that included trim, stairs, kitchen & bath remodeling and custom built-ins.

Tom began his carpentry experience while in high school in the mid 1980's.  After several years of gaining experience and knowledge, he formed his first business building custom decks and paver patios.  He went on to transition to custom finish interior carpentry where he prides himself on exceeding the expectations of all our clients. You will find Tom personally working on your projects.

Lisa works in the office scheduling and helping to design projects.  You might even find her on site working with Tom on a project.  Previously, she balanced life as a stay at home mom/business owner who also worked part time over the years.  Lisa has a creative mind and a good eye, our home on Roanoke Island was her vision brought to life.
